I thought it would be appropriate to have a new blog for a new geographical location.  And the resemblance of this blog format is uncanny compared to Wisconsin’s green, rolling hills.  It’s really beautiful out here, and soothing to be in such a familiar yet new completely new landscape. I’m really looking forward to the fall, especially with the intense humidity that’s been weighing down the air.

But enough of the weather report. Let’s move on to the classifieds: the job search is still on. I have an on-call catering job, but that’s just extra credit.  I had a 3.5 hour interview today with an awesome company.  But after that whole fiasco I don’t know how much I care anymore.  But that’s my way of dealing with an impending rejection for a position I found out they no longer have available.  However, I’ve cried my tears, knitted a sweater, and ran a marathon to get over it and have since prepared a couple of applications to work in the kitchens of assisted living/retirement homes, another dietary route I’m considering. Oh, how I’m over the interviewing process.  Isn’t there a better way to hire people?  A game of Scrabble, mayhaps?  I’d be up for that. Even a rousing game of institutional Truth or Dare.  Hey, I’d be willing to put myself through that level of humiliation for a good job.  How is that not committment? Either way, I have a phone interview tomorrow morning and hopefully that will change my current outlook on things.

Otherwise I’m fed, full, and happy and knitting the Interweave Knits Kimono Sweater for Due (previously a project for Ruari, but I’m more than a year behind for that deadline).  I should be reading with my spare time too.  Any book suggestions?
